The architecture of the facility to be established in Kemerburgaz belongs to Mete Arat, who is the architect of many projects such as the German Mercedes factory and Türk Telekom Arena Stadium. The capacity of the Waste Incineration and Energy Production Facility will be 3.000 tons/day. With this project, in addition to waste disposal, electrical energy with a capacity of 70 MWh will be produced at the facility.

Technologies will compete

Technologies of giant companies from developed countries such as German, Japanese, American and Austrian will compete for the Waste Incineration and Energy Production Facility project, for which EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) reports have been received and is in the tender stage. Pointing out that the project, which will be a first in Turkey, will be an important step in the EU harmonization process in terms of both waste reduction and renewable energy targets, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş said that a facility that will be among the top 10 cities producing energy from garbage in the world will be built. told.
