World plastics giant SABIC company and Turkish Plastics Industrialists Research, Development and Education Foundation (PAGEV) officials visited Yalova University and held a cooperation meeting.
Yalova University, which has started to make its name more popular with each passing day in the field of Polymer Engineering, hosted important guests. SABIC and PAGEV representatives came to Yalova University and discussed the possibilities of cooperation on this issue. The cooperation meeting was attended by Yalova University Rector Prof. Dr. Niyazi Eruslu, Vice Rector and Head of Polymer Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yıldırım, Vice Rector and Professor of Polymer Engineering Department. Dr. Talip Alp, SABIC Polymer Technologies Manager Fahad Al-Khodairi, SABIC Turkey General Manager Abdullah Al-Fawaz, SABIC Turkey Sales Director Tuğrul Tapkı, PAGEV General Menejari Banu Ergan and Polymer Engineering faculty members attended. Speaking at the meeting, Rector Prof. Eruslu stated that they aim to solve all the problems of the plastics industry with the Polymer Engineering department, which was established for the first time in Turkey in 2008 within the body of Yalova University.
At the meeting where the importance of cooperating with SABIC, which supplies raw materials to many plastic companies in Turkey, was emphasized, Deputy Head of Polymer Engineering Department Assoc. Dr. A presentation about Yalova University and the Polymer Engineering Department was made by Sinan Şen. Afterwards, Tuğrul Tapkı, SABIC Turkey Sales Director, introduced SABIC. After the meeting, SABIC Polymer Technologies Manager Fahad Al-Khodairi gave information about the polymer production and technologies carried out at SABIC. Speaking after the presentations, Yalova University Polymer Engineering Department Head Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yıldırım stated that they want to solve the problems of the plastics industry with the R&D projects to be carried out between the Polymer Engineering Department of Yalova University and the SABIC R&D Center. After the meeting, Yalova University Science and Technology Application and Research Center Laboratories were visited.
