This year, İKMİB brings an important difference to the R&D Project Market, which it has implemented in order to increase the added value in chemical exports and to offer innovative ideas to the industrialists. Award-winning projects in sub-categories such as plastic, cosmetics and paint will be presented to the taste of industrialists with the "Sector Meetings" to be held after the event.
Necmi Sadıkoğlu, Vice Chairman of İKMİB Board of Directors and Chairman of the R&D Project Market Executive Board, pointed out that R&D and innovation studies are an important necessity in reducing the import of raw materials and intermediate goods in the chemical industry, and said that they organized the R&D Project Market for this purpose. Sadıkoğlu continued his words as follows: “While the export figures of our sector are increasing, unfortunately, the import figures are also increasing at the same rate. We are heavily dependent on foreign sources such as 80 percent. We are in search of technological solutions to meet the intermediate goods needs of the industry. The R&D Project Market, which we have been organizing for three years, also serves this purpose. The increase in participation and interest every year gives us hope for the future of our industry. At the same time, we will be breaking new ground this year. With the 'Sector Meetings' we will organize after the R&D Project Market, the owners of the award-winning projects will have the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with the industrialists from the most important sub-sectors of chemistry and introduce their projects. We will continue to support the works that will increase the added value of our exports.”
