The National Air Pollution Emissions Management System is being established

The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization will establish a "National Air Pollution Emission Management System" with TUBITAK to ensure the continuity of the management of air polluting emissions.

According to the written statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that Istanbul Technical University, Bahçeşehir University and Proline Information Systems will be among the project coordinators, and with the system to be established, the main sources causing air pollution will be classified, the spatial distribution of air pollution will be visualized through geographic information systems software and national updates will be made. .

It was stated that the opening meeting of the project in cooperation with TÜBİTAK was held in Ankara, and the following information was given:

“With the project, a study will be conducted to calculate the emission factor for 150 industrial facilities, 60 domestic heating source points and for the first time 500 different vehicle types in real road conditions. Works in the provinces of the Marmara Region selected as the pilot region of the project will be completed by the end of 2016. Work will be carried out for the other 6 geographical regions until the end of 2019. The project, which will be carried out with various workshops, trainings and meetings for 3 years, has a team of 60 people.”
