General Electric (GE) organized an Innovation Competition as an extension of its commitment to support Turkey's 2023 vision.
Canan Özsoy, President and CEO of GE Turkey, said, “We support local innovation efforts with our belief in the important role that innovation plays in increasing Turkey's competitiveness.” Organized in cooperation with TÜBİTAK, the GE Turkey Innovation Competition targets students, entrepreneurs, inventors and businesses. It is aimed to enable the emergence of strong, innovative and creative ideas and initiatives to solve the problems in the fields of energy efficiency and health, and to encourage the implementation of these ideas.
Grand Prize $100.000
Announced in October and scheduled to be completed in December, the competition's total prize of $100.000 will be shared among the winners of the health and energy categories. In addition, the winners of the first prize in both categories will be entitled to visit one of the GE Global Research Centers, at GE's expense, with the aim of providing a different experience and enhancing their vision.
Innovative solutions are expected in the energy and health categories in the Innovation Competition. The subject of the first category was determined as industrial energy efficiency. Innovative solutions including sensor, wireless and/or mobile phone technologies are requested to detect, track and monitor energy use and consumption in industrial facilities.
