Philips develops carpets with LED light system. LED technology, which was invented at the beginning of the 20th century, has become a popular technology in recent years with the use of high power or high output LEDs in lighting systems. LED technology, which can provide a luminous flux of up to 2500 lumens, even in flashlights, has also been widely used in direction signs.
Philips' innovative approach, on the other hand, defines a new usage area for LED technology: The use of LED lighting systems embedded in carpets instead of directional signs in closed and controlled light areas such as hotels, conference halls and cinemas. The programmable LEDs make the use of this system both flexible and dynamic.
