SU Chemical Engineering Produced Flexible Organic Led. With the "Flexible Oled Production Project", prepared by the Faculty of Engineering Chemical Engineering faculty members and students of Selcuk University (SU), touch screens used in many fields, especially mobile phones, will be made flexible and bendable. Participating in the Industry-Oriented Undergraduate Graduation Projects Competition (2242/B), organized by TÜBİTAK every year, the project was awarded the first prize in the 'Sciences' sub-category of the 'Field Special Awards' main category. The architects of the project, Fatma Ustaoğlu, Yasemin Cemile Altınsu and Handan Uzun, students of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Selcuk University, were thanked by Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Mahmut Kuş was a consultant.
“SCREEN TECHNOLOGY OF THE FUTURE”
Assoc. Dr. Kuş said, “We have been working on the project for 2 years. Our aim is to produce high quality transparent and bendable Organic LEDs by converting them into very small sizes and to have a say in the screen technology of the future in our country. This technology will provide a technological infrastructure not only for display systems, but also for thin-film processor technologies and organic-based solar cells production. Thus, the electronic devices we use will be lighter, foldable, long-lasting and inexpensive. Supporting us in the realization of all these studies, our Rector Prof. Dr. We are grateful to Hakkı Gökbel”.
“TO GO TO PRODUCTION”
Stating that it is a great honor for their projects to be awarded the first prize by TÜBİTAK, Fatma Ustaoğlu, one of the students, said, “It is extremely meaningful for us that our project, which we designed together with my friends and teacher, received the first prize from an important institution like TÜBİTAK. In the next period, we will further develop the project and carry out studies to enable it to go into production. We would like to express our endless thanks to our faculty members who have worked on us.”
