Our Chemical Exports Increased in September. The exports of the chemical industry increased by 8.18 percent in September to 1 billion 522 million dollars and the nine-month export reached 13 billion 452 million dollars. According to the data of the Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB), the chemical industry, which ranks third after the automotive and ready-to-wear and apparel industries, made the most exports to Egypt, Iraq and Germany in this period.
Top 10 countries in chemical exports in the January-September period; Egypt, Iraq, Germany, Malta, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan-Nakhchivan and Spain.
In this period, the most exported product group was plastics and its products with 4 billion 373 million dollars; mineral fuels, mineral oils and products ranked second with 3 billion 398 million dollars, and rubber and rubber goods ranked third with 1 billion 48 million dollars.
İKMİB Chairman of the Board Murat Akyüz stated that they are continuing their efforts to reach the 18 billion dollar export target at the end of the year.
