BTSO Prepares the Chemical Industry for Clustering and Ur-Ge Projects. Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) prepares companies operating in the chemical industry for 'Clustering' and 'Developing International Competitiveness (Ur-Ge)' projects.
Companies from Bursa, which have an important share in the chemical industry in Turkey, are joining forces under the leadership of BTSO. Chemical sector representatives who are members of BTSO, clustering and UR-GE took the first step for BTSO Board Member İlker Duran, 21st Professional Committee Chairman Kağan Yeşil, 22nd Professional Committee Chairman Kerim Sabuniş and nearly 60 BTSO member companies attended the meeting held at BTSO Altıparmak Representative Building. At the meeting, a presentation was made to the sector representatives on the contribution of the clustering activities to the companies and the support provided by the Ur-Ge projects.
“FIRMS PROVIDE A GREAT ADVANTAGE”
BTSO Board Member İlker Duran, in his speech at the meeting, BCCI He explained that they were entitled to receive Ur-Ge support from the Ministry of Economy with the projects they developed in both fields, following the clustering activities they started in the fields of space, aviation and defense and rail systems, which are of great importance in Turkey's 2023 targets. Reminding that another project of BTSO, which was entitled to receive Ur-Ge support, was realized in the field of baby-child clothing, Duran noted that with these activities, companies found solutions to their common problems, improved their infrastructure and provided an advantage in international competition.
“BURSA HAS 5,4 PERCENT SHARE IN THE SECTOR”
Ilker DuranHe said that there are 23 thousand chemical industry companies in Turkey and 280 thousand employees are employed in these companies. Pointing out that 5,4 percent of the entrepreneurs in the sector are located in Bursa, Duran said that they want Clustering and Ur-Ge activities to be carried out in the chemical sector as well. BTSO Board Member Duran said:Chemical industrycovers a very large area. In our sector, which is one of the most important sectors affecting the current account deficit, it is of great importance for our Bursa companies to benefit from clustering and R&D projects. We would like to see our sector representatives in these studies, for which our chamber and the public also provide significant support.”

Speaking at the meeting, the 22nd Professional Committee Kerim Sabuniş stated that clustering and Ur-Ge studies are of vital importance for the sector and invited companies to participate in these projects that started under the leadership of BTSO.
21. Professional Committee Chairman Kağan Yeşil stated that the clustering and Ur-Ge studies initiated with the support of BTSO set an example for Turkey.
