Fethi Sekin was born in 1973 in the village of Doğancık in the Baskil district of Elazig. After completing his education in his hometown, he won the Police Vocational School.
Having graduated from Samsun 19 Mayıs Police Vocational School in 1995, Sekin's first duty was Kilis. Sekin, who was later appointed to Bingöl, served in this city in 1999-2002. Sekin, who was appointed to İzmir after Bingöl, worked in front of the courthouse for about 9 years.
Martyr police Fethi Sekin was martyred in the terrorist attack carried out by the PKK on January 5, 2017 in front of the Izmir Courthouse.
Preventing terrorists from approaching the Izmir Courthouse C door as they planned, the Sekin prevented the possible disaster by repelling 2 kalashnikovs, RPG-7 rocket launchers and 8 ammunition, terrorists with hand grenades. He was sent off on his last trip in his hometown Elazığ. In the attack, Sekin and his courthouse staff Musa Can also died, 3 people were injured, 3 lawyers, 2 police officers, 2 court officials and 2 civilians. 9 terrorists who carried out the attack were killed at the scene.
