Müjdat Gezen (born October 29, 1943), Turkish theater, cinema and TV series actor, poet, teacher. He established the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. Turkey is a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF since November 2007.
Childhood years
He was born on 29 October 1943 in Fatih, Istanbul. He appeared on the stage for the first time in 1953 in Hırka-i Şerif Primary School, in his first play. In the same year, his poems were published in Doğan Kardeş Çocuk Magazine. During these years, he met with the microphone at the Istanbul Radio Children's Club. He took part in various amateur theater groups between 1956-57 and became a professional at Istanbul Municipality City Theaters in 1960. He graduated from Vefa High School in the same year. In 1961, he entered the Istanbul Municipality Conservatories Theater Department. He made his first film in 1962.
Career
Gezen made his first private theater work in 1963. He entered the Münir Özkul and Muammer Karaca Theaters. His poems were published in art magazines in 1963-64. He did his military service between 1964 and 1966 and attempted to write plays. In 1966, he entered the Ulvi Uraz Theater. In 1967 he founded Halk Actors with his friends. In 1968, he opened his own private theater for the first time and worked at the Istanbul Theater the same season. In 1970, he did stage work and film studies as well as TV work. In the same year, her daughter named Elif was born. He wrote in newspapers and magazines. His first book was published in 1975. He has 1999 published books as of 28. Also, he has writings in primary school Turkish books [citation needed]. He founded a publishing house in 1982. In the same year, Istanbul Municipality Conservatory and later İ.Ü. He taught Turkish Theater at the State Conservatory. In the same year, together with his writer friend Kandemir Konduk, he founded the "Güldürü Üretim Merkezi" and directed a humor page in major newspapers. He founded MSM in 1991. He founded the "MSM Forest" in 1992. The play Hamlet Efendi was awarded in 1995 and was played at the State Theaters. He wrote for Cumhuriyet newspaper between 1996-1998. 1997 He directed plays at the State Theaters. The same year, his play called My Father received an award. He founded the theater that bears his name for the first time in 1998. He starred in around a hundred films, around fifty plays, more than a thousand radio and TV skits, wrote and directed some of them.
Müjdat Gezen is also a poet. He has an album named "My poetry has come, leave me" consisting of 74 poems. The album featured names like Savaş Dinçel, Mustafa Alabora, Perran Kutman, Ali Poyrazoğlu, Rutkay Aziz and Sunay Akın with him.
