Bayraktar Akıncı is a high altitude long endurance armed unmanned aerial vehicle under development by Turkish Unmanned Aerial Vehicle manufacturer Baykar Defense. In addition to Bayraktar Akıncı product, one of our Defense Industry Vehicles, they operate intensively on air defense systems in many different branches. In turn, we will continue to bring you the vehicles made by this company.

Akıncı is a 1,5-ton SİHA with two turboprop engines and a load carrying capacity of approximately 6 tons. It is also called the Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TİHA) because it can conduct air-air combat.

The first pictures of the UAV caught the eye in the news in June 2018. The engine meeting began in August 2019 with a Ukrainian turboprop engine Ivchenko-Progress AI-450C.

The first engine test of the UAV was carried out on September 1, 2019. After completing other technical tests, the aircraft was moved to the Turkish Armed Forces' Çorlu Airport Command facilities. On December 6, 2019, the automatic taxi and post-takeoff UAV made its maiden flight. After a 16-minute test flight, it landed successfully.

Akıncı has a total load carrying capacity of 450 kg (990 lb) with an internal load of 900 kg (2.000 lb) and an external load of 1.350 kg (2.980 lb). Akıncı, powered by two turboprop engines of 450 hp (340 kW) each, has a maximum take-off weight of 6 tons. With a 20 m (66 ft) wingspan, it is designed to be configured with two more engines of 200 hp (150 kW) or 750 hp (560 kW) each.[6]
