It's been 13 years since James Cameron's "Avatar" transformed the movie industry and set new box office records. The highly anticipated sequel “Avatar: The Path of Water” will finally hit theaters on December 16.
The Sully family, consisting of Jake, Neytiri and their children, is seen in the sequel as their house is falling apart. According to the official synopsis, the Sully family faces danger, life and death, and tragedy throughout the film. Tribal politics are turned upside down when the couple escapes from their home and enters the water world of Metcaina. Cameron is both producing and directing the film, along with Jon Landau.
Alongside Sigourney Weaver, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprise their roles as Jake and Neytiri, respectively. Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh, who are new to the series, also take part in the mysterious world of Pandora. The film also stars Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco and Jemaine Clement.
