New iPads and Macs May Be Announced Before October Event

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple may decide to unveil its final line for 14, including refurbished iPad Pro, Mac mini, and 16- and 2022-inch MacBook Pros, in a press release on its website rather than at a virtual event.

In its latest Power On bulletin, Gurman noted that instead of holding a digital event, Apple is currently "expected to announce the remaining 2022 products through press releases, updates to the website, and briefings to certain members of the press." Apple was rumored to hold a second Mac and iPad-focused fall event in October, but that may not be the case right now.

Apple has three products planned for the remainder of 2022: the revised 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, the 2-inch and 11-inch iPad Pro and M12.9 with an M2 processor, and a new Mac mini with an as-yet-unannounced "M2 Pro" chip.

At WWDC in June, Apple introduced the M13 processor for the updated MacBook Air and 2-inch MacBook Pro. Except for the new processor, the Mac and iPad will only receive minor improvements; No significant changes are expected in the designs of the products. Apple has announced products such as AirPods Max and first-generation AirPods Pro in the past through a press release.
