The purchase of TB2s could cover more than two-thirds of the money spent on Middle East's non-tender UAV programs. According to Shephard Defense Intelligence data, when IDEX 2023 is on the horizon, $5,56 billion from unfunded UAV programs in the Middle East, or 52,26% of the $10,65 billion available in UAV programs globally, is still accessible.

It is expected that 1.77 billion dollars of this outstanding money will be used in the construction of Bayraktar TB2. While an investment of $2016 billion is expected to be invested in the platform between 2026 and 3,96, the UAV is very popular in the region.

This figure represents more than four times the projected TB2 expenditures in other regions, accounting for 66,58% of the projected platform expenditures worldwide during this period.

The UAE's $2 billion purchase of 120 units, which is stated to include domestic industry participation, accounts for 2% of the Middle East's estimated TB50,52 expenditures.

The UAE's own drone industry is thriving and UAVs from Edge Group companies Halcon and Adasi are expected to occupy a prominent place in IDEX 2023.

Any local industry involvement reportedly involved in the TB2 deal will only advance this sector and may ultimately result in Emirati UAVs receiving a larger portion of the $5.56 billion untendered Middle East programmes.
