The chemical industry, one of the key sectors of the Turkish economy, has grown rapidly in the last 10 years with all its sub-sectors from plastics to cosmetics, from pharmaceuticals to paint. With its export performance, chemistry is among the sectors that export the most in Turkey. Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (İKMİB) has been serving approximately 1991 thousand members in export operations since 5, and organizes various organizations with the aim of making member companies leaders in global markets. At the same time, it carries out strategic studies in increasing the export of chemical substances and products and marketing them abroad.

International Fairs, Trade and Purchasing Committees by the Association play an important role in helping chemical exporters reach new markets. Every year, both our country and sub-sectors are introduced in the most important fairs of the cosmetics, health, paint and plastic industries from the Middle East to Asia, from the USA to Europe.

In this context, a Sectoral Trade Committee of 5 companies participated in the Africa Healthcare Week London organization, the 24th edition of which was held this year for the health sector, which is one of the sub-sectors of IKMIB with the highest added value and in an upward trend.

More than 30 participating companies took part in the organization, which included representatives of ministries from around 400 countries, members of non-governmental organizations, distributors and buyers from Africa. Within the scope of the activity, 24 representatives from 29 participating companies from Turkey held B2B business meetings in addition to conference participation for two days.

In the organization held at London Olympia Conference Center on 6-7 March 2018, the trends and practices of the pharmaceutical and medical industry were evaluated within the scope of local practice examples, especially from African countries. It is expected that the participants of the delegation from Turkey, whose target market is the relevant regions, will provide significant added value in increasing the foreign trade volume.
